I joined the practice in 1993 when I started my Duke of Edinburgh award, gaining experience every Saturday morning. It didn't take long before my love of animals became a total addiction, caring for as many animals as possible. I completed my work experience through school in 1994 and started as a regular member of staff working Saturday mornings and Monday and Thursday evenings. I was delighted to be offered a full time job as a veterinary nurse and started work the Monday after I finished high school in 1996. I studied veterinary nursing at Myerscough college between 1996 and 1998.
I was based at the Lancaster surgery until I became pregnant with my first child. I now have three gorgeous kids. 12, 11 and 7 years old
After my third child, I returned to work as the practice manager and now manage the day to day running of the practice. Although I do not have as much hands on experience with the animals, you will be sure to see me with a pet sat on my knee, needing cuddles, whilst I work! I love it!
I have three children (and a man child) that keep me busy. My little girl is already showing a keen love of animals. I have a big white silly boxer and a ginger toy poodle and two rabbits.
In my free time I love spending time walking and exploring the lakes with my family, socialising with friends and concocting tasty meals. I can honestly say I will be here till I retire :)
